• Laney is an only child, who's been quite privileged and some might say spoiled throughout her life.
  
  
• She is rather blunt and will tell people straight up if she's unpleased or her expectations aren't met
  
  
• Laney is bossy and has a bit of a control problem. She loves being placed in charge and can be quite childish when she's not.
  
  
• Her one true love was surfing, but it was forcefully taken away from her after becoming a mermaid. It's because of this that she loathes it.
  
  
• Laney is very involved in her school, being in several clubs including the student council and plays for the school soccer team.
  
  
• She is known for being snobbish and refusing to even speak to people who she deems "below her". This accounts for most of her fellow merfolk. This also contributes to her dislike of the whole situation.
  
  
• She's scared of disappointing her parents. She feels that if she doesn't over achieve, she will not get any attention aside from the occasional praise she currently receives. Her parents are both successful in their field of employment and rarely home because of that. She worries she'll not reach their levels of success and be considered a failure
