• His mother, Chery, was divorced when Lowell was six years old. Lowell's father was cheating on her, so she kicked him out Badbass, she is.
  
  
• Lowell does not in any way want to be a merman, and will try for the longest time to reverse the process
  
  
• Lowell is studying to be a marine biologyst. But, now that he can't touch water... Well, that dream has kinda been crushed into dust. Ergo the above point.
  
  
• Cheryl doesn't want her son to become some 'brainless meathead like (his) father', so she pushes Lowell to achieve academically. Lowell doesn't mind this, though, because he actually quite likes academics.
  
  
• Cheryl is pretty much all the family Lowell has (not that he minds; she's all the family he'd ever need <3), so they are very close
  
  
• Lowell has SEVERAL pet fish that he almost obsesivly tends to
  
  
• Lowell is an uptight perfectionist who tries to solve everyone's problems.
  
  
• Lowell is constantly collecting data on the various fish around the island (this data is going to be the basis of the thesis that he plans to use to get into college).
  
  
• Lowell's girlfriend, Kiele, is friends with Brielle. The three of them hang out together and are fairly close. After Brielle and Lowell become merpeople, however, their relationship with Kiele will become strained and they will hang out with each other more than with her. This will upset Kiele, and worry Lowell (he doesn't wanna loose her :c)
